Joanne Hammil, a nationally touring performer, songwriter and educator, presents lively, participatory concerts and workshops in addition to directing several choruses in the greater Boston area. Her many programs for community sings, schools, festivals and institutes, and engaging workshops take her from coast to coast. Her original songs for adults and children have received the highest acclaim and can be heard on her two children's recordings, Pizza Boogie and The World's Gonna Listen!, her (mostly for adults) recordings of 53 of her original rounds on her Rounds & Partner Songs Vol.1 & Vol.2, and Joanne's brand new release Don't Give Me a Label of her original songs for adults (not rounds) recorded at concerts and studios over the years!

Joanne is joined by Pete Seeger on guitar as she directs a chorus of children and adults (and the audience!) singing the South African freedom song 'Siyahamba' at the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the of 1963 March on Washington. This video was shot on August 28th, 2013 in Boston, MA by an audience member from one of the children's schools.

Joanne Receives a Magic Penny!
Joanne will be receiving the highly distinguished Magic Penny Award at The Children's Music Network annual conference on Sept 18th 2011 in Hyannis MA. This is a lifetime honor and she will be the 11th person to receive the prestigious distinction named after the famous song by the first recipient, Malvina Reynolds. There will be an hour and a half devoted to Joanne's music, with many conferees singing her songs and her praises. Joanne's son, Adam Ezra, will also be in attendance and joining Joanne in a song or two! Come to the CMN conference and share in this exciting event and a weekend full of wonderful musicians, workshops, connections and ideas!
